Workshops in the Garden

Free workshops and trainings for community members are another important part of the garden.

On September 27, we held a cooking class with the older adult association and Chef Erlin Lopez, one of our first volunteers in the garden. Chef Erlin prepared healthy and delicious recipes using vegetables and fruits from the garden. The older adults enjoyed mint lemonade and spinach salad with creamy spinach dressing, egg, radish, carrot and tomato. The older adults loved the workshop. Many thanks to Chef Erlin for sharing his time and passion with the community!

Another workshop was organized by our Garden Coordinator Yorlli Noguera Gutierrez. The theme of the workshop was Fruit Tree Grafting. Various volunteers and community members participated in the class, which consisted of two separate days: one theoretical presentation and one day in the garden practicing what they had learned. The participants had the opportunity to practice with different citrus trees. Many thanks to Yorlli for organizing this excellent workshop.
