In 2018, 18 seventh graders and tenth graders at Villarreal High School who live in Cabo Velas were selected to participate in the scholarship and mentoring project with Futuro Brillante and the esteemed Fundación Acción Joven.
The goal of the program is to support families with economic needs through a small monthly stipend sponsored by Futuro Brillante to be used for school supplies, uniforms, transportation, etc. Another major goal of the project is to prevent high school dropouts and promote leadership and goal planning for the students. This was accomplished through workshops and field trips organized by Acción Joven. Many thanks to FAJ staffer Ana Lilliam for her great work with the students!
