Children’s Day

Project Description

Children’s Day

On Sunday, September 9, we celebrated Día del Niño, or Children’s Day with special activities in coordination with the parents of the sixth grade class of the Matapalo. It was tons of fun!

There was a bouncy house, clown, face painting, cotton candy, popcorn and lots of games. The main event was the Toy Bingo, where more than 45 toys were donated by local sponsors to help raise funds for the sixth grade class graduation dinner. The parents committee also sold food.

Children and their families loved the event. We estimate that more than 400 people were in attendance, and we sold out of bingo cards.

Many thanks to the staff and volunteers of FB, the 6th grade parents committee and all the sponsors who made the Children’s Day celebration so special. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we were able to raise more than 400,000 colones for the 6th grade class!
